Yesterday, the hubby and I celebrated eight years since that fateful first date. What better way to celebrate then to stab your flesh fifty thousand times with a needle, right? I actually got the blue butterfly about seven or eight years ago, as one of the mandatory things to do when turning eighteen. Yesterday I added the rest to my shoulder and I'm still not quite done, I plan on taking it further onto my back. It's my feminine side, can you tell? Though I will never tell her about it, it reminds me of my grandma because of how many times she said I needed to be more lady like. To this day I am pretty sure I am the only member of my family to be inked, I feel special.
Getting the tattoo done wasn't the painful part, it was after that it began to burn. Be prepared that if you get a tattoo on the top of your shoulder, it makes it quite hard to reach up, plus you can't wear a bra strap for a week. Me and my big chest feel lopsided, ha! It bled like crazy, I am guessing just because of the spot.
The hubby got this wonderful head of garlic, perfect for the chef, and it barely bled at all. We were quite pleased with the artist, she (yes, she, awesome huh?) sketched up that garlic and the hubby was sold. Even better, she's friends with the guy who did our first ones. It was a little more money then we were willing to spend, but it's worth it, this art lasts forever. We've both been wanting more since that initial stabbing years ago believe it or not, we've just been unwilling to part with the funds. A small but very surprise inheritance from an unknown family member on the hubby's side paid for half. It was a good thing to do for our anniversary, which we hadn't even remembered until we were standing in the tattoo shop.
Eight years is impressive especially when you are only twenty five, I can't help but be proud of ourselves. I love you hubby of mine, I love you so much!
(((On a much later note, I removed the pictures of the tattoos, ask if you really want to see.)))
